Happy Halloween (and Merry Christmas)

First, I would like to apologize for no update this last month. Most of my free time on p-days during October was spent working on college applications. Don't worry, I've been having a good time and I've been working hard.

Some updates:
-Elder Kemp is awesome! He is a hard worker and loves to do good. Interestingly enough he went to high school in some tiny town called Lyman WY with my companion in the MTC, honestly a crazy coincidence so at this point I'm decided there is no such thing. Transfers happened this week and I got what I wanted, to stay here in north Louisville with him. We're going to have a great transfer together.

-We had both General and Stake conference this month. We held a live session at the church on Sunday morning including a breakfast and we had a great turnout! Sadly no one made it to the Stake Conference, but it was the third weird week in a row, so I wasn't too surprised.

-That Saturday before stake conference I attended the endowment of a woman who got baptized shortly after I left Louisville for the first time. She was on cloud 9 and at the adult session that evening the stake president had her come up and bear her testimony. It was so good! I also live translated a short talk by Ogino from French the next day and that was kind of scary but went pretty well too. It's funny because he speaks English well enough that he would know if I translated something poorly. But I had a lot of people say I did well so I'm content.

-The primary program was yesterday, and it was awesome! Even one of the daughters of a new convert family went up and gave a little testimony thing. The chorister found a version of "Love at Home" that was super jazzy and had some Swahili, in it so they sang that, and it was awesome! We had great attendance so that was super exciting too.

-My district is quite large and as District Leader I am asked to exchange with every missionary in the district. In the last 3 weeks I've done like 7 exchanges but it's really fun because I have the opportunity to really get to know my district members and understand their individual challenges and hardships. Truthfully, they also do a great job of helping me with mine at the same time. I love all the missionaries around me!!

Friends:
-Alenge and Mwaliasha are doing great, honestly the only thing that kept them from being baptized yesterday was that we simply just couldn't teach all the required principles fast enough. They are currently scheduled for the 8th of December, and they will certainly be ready by then.

-Aloma is awesome too, he is set for the 8th as well and we just need to get over to his house more often. A couple weeks ago he and his brother Safari went to the hospital because they got sick (not really sure what it was, I don't speak Swahili enough to understand). We went by and gave Aloma a blessing and it was awesome! He said that he really felt good and even mentioned it at church on Sunday.

-We are teaching the younger brother of Rossi and Gothie. (If you remember those names from a year ago.) His name is Obed and these kids are awesome! They're so chaotic but they also love the church and they love the missionaries. The ward has done a great job of fellowshipping them and helping the boys grow their faith. I honestly love the first ward; they try so hard, and they have some really committed members that I really admire. I hope to put Obed on date soon, but we will have to have a conversation with his dad first. All in the Lord's timing though!

-We haven't done finding very much lately and are working on more effective planning, so we don't have very many new friends to talk about. But those we are working with are awesome and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve here at this time.

All in all, it's been a good few weeks and I'm really enjoying being a missionary. There are definitely things I miss back home but they pale in comparison with the good I get to do here.

Love you all and catch you next week!!
