Happy Independence Day!

And by that, I mean Congo independence on June 30th (America is good too 😉)!

Short email this week because I don't have much time, but I just want to say I'm doing so much!! Since combining areas we're working so hard to see everyone. There's a picture of our weekly planning board and I honestly don't remember most of the week. Here's a few highlights though ha-ha.

Baelomona is a someone that has been taught in the past but wasn't able to progress that far because he was in high school with no phone number or car. But we came back and now he's 18 so we're hoping some things can happen. He apparently read to chapter 27 of the book of Mormon!!! And 1 Nephi doesn't even have 27 chapters so either he's in 2 Nephi 5, 2 Nephi 27 or just confused haha. But it was so crazy to learn because I've literally never talked to him, and we show up and he says he's been reading like every time he has some free time. He's so cool!

We met with Daniel Bolenge and he's still cool. He had some questions about modesty in church (like should women cover their hair and stuff). And eventually we got into a good discussion about laws/commandments and their purposes. We read 2 Nephi 25:26-27 and he liked that answer that we all get to choose now to follow a higher law than the law of Moses and the most important part of God's laws is to bring us closer to Christ. He said he'll come to church next week!!!

Massan and Justin are also still cool. Honestly, we could get really far on this one. They're an amazing couple who both really love God. We showed them the Ask of God video and they both loved. They also said they wanted to come to church next week!! Hopefully all goes well.

One thing that I'm loving about this mission is the chance I have to look at people, and look at my own life, through heaven's eyes. (Cue Prince of Egypt soundtrack.) I get to meet with people where they are, learn their background, and help them become just a little bit more. Help them find a little (or hopefully a lot) more peace and joy in this life. I love these people so much and I am so grateful for this opportunity I have to spend this time with them!

Have a wonderful 4th of July week! Love you all and be safe with the legal bombs you set off ha-ha!!
